No. You simply click the emblem button in-game "Set forum avatar as emblem"
It only works on public servers -
No matter what I do it doesn't show. Even in private match. It used to show but not anymore.

Try again by clicking multiple times then join a public server, it does work.
Just tried it to show you it does work on first try for me
