Playing on LAN

I'm trying to host a LAN zombies game where me and my 2 brothers could join in offline mode (we are connected to the same network) I tried setting a opening a port (UDP) and set the rules and everything and still nothing works.. whenever I type in "connect" then the IPV4 address it says joining then nothing happens.. I also tried typing the IP address and then the port still nothing happens.. please any help?
