Is there a way to change the port number? I do not want to enable uPNP and would rather open a port instead and would like to choose the port number used. I cannot find anywhere in the configs file an option to change the port number that is used and an option to disable uPNP.

I don't think you can do that for private games. The port is given by the net_port dvar but I think that the game binds a port at the startup and that this dvar is simply a getter basically. A dedicated server could allow you to do that. As for UPnP same thing I don't think you can do that. I never even saw a service have a way to not use UPnP before. Should probably be done in your router assuming you know what UPnP is and does

Many applications with port forwarding offer both options.

For example, torrenting clients like qBittorrent allow you to use UPnP or you can disable UPnP and set the port number to anything and from there you will need to open that port number on your router.

UPnP is great and convient but not as secure as using static port forwarding (Using UPnP is considered dynamic port forwarding)

trymeout you don't have to disable UPnP to not use it though, you can just port forward
