WAW Modded Zombies LAG

I’m playing modded WAW zombies on the plutonium client
When I was first playing mods on my pc I got in early June, the game ran smoothly
Now for some reason the game lags every 3 - 7 seconds and it’s very distracting
I lowered my settings to the lowest possible setting for graphics and textures and it was running the same with that lag. It’s only a handful of modded maps that do this and the default maps for the game run perfectly fine.
Is it an Internet problem or did I download something that could potentially be harmful -
Does that always happen or only when you are hosting the match (be it alone or with friends)?
