Hosting a private match

Im trying to play a private match with my friends.
read everything in the document. Ive forwarded the port and it still does not work.
When me or my friends tries to join any private match it says "Connecting..." and nothing happens..
Any help please? -
Try connecting using the console. Type 'connect' (without quotes) followed by the IP of the host. We had the same issue and this fixed it for us.
