How to join... anything???

I've followed the guide exactly and I still am completely unable to join anything, so am I to take this that Bo1 zombies are a bust and I should just giveup.
Disappointing tbh, all i see are issues posted about and no fixes for anything, just a bunch of "oh playing with people is low on the priority of fixes", would be good if someone with a brain was working on these kinds of things instead of the clearly inpet losers who are.
