Forum Avatar as emblem not working

Simply as the title says. This feature is not working for either myself or my friend. I understand that in barracks/lobby the emblem shows as the default dog-tag emblem once selected and changes to the custom forum avatar ingame, however, this is not working for either of us, it simply remains as the dog-tags. Any suggestions?
