Blue Filtering on Textures

Does anyone know what kind of conversion BO2 does to some texture files that make them blue while editing? I noticed most menu and skybox textures (when extracted) have a blue tint to them, and if you don't make your new texture that same filter the game will convert it to be blue.

Its probably the atmosphere or something. Idk if im right or not but i feel like the maps atmosphere has some blue tint
