Does BO2 only work on steam?

I got BO2 on the xbox app as it's on offer but when directing to the folder it wouldn't work saying the games not directed to there.
What do I do?Plutonium doesn’t not work with the Microsoft Store version of BO2 because that version’s files are built different compared to the Steam version, and Plutonium is built to work with the Steam version’s files. I believe the same goes for MW3, but not WaW because the WaW game files aren’t built different. BO1 is unclear to me.
I’d suggest requesting a refund and getting the Steam version when it’s on discount.
