How to run custom games with friends?

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to play Die Rise co-op Zombies with a friend using Plutonium BO2 (T6R), but I’m having trouble getting a proper private match to run. We start through Custom Games, but random players keep joining mid-lobby and spiking the zombie count like it’s a public game. Any information helps, thanks.
