Can't level up my guns

Hey all! This is my first time setting this up and playing it i played bo2 and mw3 and on both of them I cant level up my guns? I get kills and then go back to lobby and dont get any levels or xp towards my guns. The main reason I set this up was so I could grind camos and titles. Any solutions?
