Restoring BO2 save data

I was reading up this past week on how to keep my multiplayer stats/camos/etc from resetting every time I exit the game, and found the post by Marlboromir on creating checkpoints with a config file.
I randomly was reset back 5 levels again today, however I did find the config_mp.cfg file from the night before when I logged off in my players folder. It seems to just not be loading from it?
How do I fix this or get it to load from that save point?

You can force the game to store the profile data locally on your PC if you have issues storing it on our infrastructure.
