Game crashes when detecting controller

For controller support, i use steam. It has always worked normal, but after this past update (i believe, i havent played for about a week but it was normal then) the game will crash when my controller connects. If i dont move my controller, it will work fine. if i move the usb (that connects the controller) at all, it crashes. im assuming this is an overlay issue in the new patch or something, idk. need help

I'm going to assume you use DS4. If you use Xbox you just plug and play and that's it. If you use DS4. You'll need to use DS4windows instead of the steam stuff.

I tried using ds4 and also tried using steam big picture (both worked before). they both give the same error message
