Game freezes when I try to do anything in the menu

When I try to maybe just make a clan tag or edit a class or even game a server the game just freezes completely music stops and everything. I'm pretty lost at what to do now.

Did you download BO2 from the official torrent linked in the readme? And check the minimum requirements of BO2, see if your PC/laptop's powerful enough to run the game smoothly?
Also is there an error/crashdump? Or do you have to force close it?
