when i join a server i can play for about 5 seconds the i disconnect and it says client command overflow

It's caused by your internet connection it either has package loss or package choke.
Try using a wired connection or reset your modem. -
Xerxes The client command overflow error can also occur because of using a controller. mikey explained this possibility on this topic (https://forum.plutonium.pw/topic/7614/error-client-command-overflow/20).

Xerxes mikey was just making a supposition with the controller use related to the error. He gave a link to a video showing the error happening when using a controller and shooting a bullet (https://streamable.com/tbpwe8). But he didn't claim it was the reason why the error does occur.
The only approved origin for the problem is the bad connection and network issues. Mikey didn't say the opposite and has already shown your screenshot as the only official reason for the error.
I didn't use my screenshot as proof: I just wanted to not waste your time clicking on the link and looking for Mikey's post.
I am sorry if I sounded rude or else but that's not my intention as English isn't my mother tongue.By the way, do you know why this error has only been happening recently? I've been playing Plutonium T6 with the same Internet connection and never had this error before 2021.

We don't know why it happens now either, but we at least know what causes it and a patch is in the works.

Xerxes I do know what i'm talking about... but, I was adding onto the discussion on when the error also occurs. Maybe if you looked around just a bit harder, you would see that the thread I replied to was about the error and I talked about how it's not the origin of the issue but rather another way to reproduce the issue.
