Friend banned for 7 days for no reason

Before i start, i know you cant appeal bans anymore but i just want closure on why it happened.
So me and my friend plays custom games alot, never public match. today we decided to play with a tranzit qol fix mod, i died and it was game over, he alt tabbed, his game was frozen but audio was still playing, so he restarted his game and the launcher asked to login again, and said he was ban for 7 days. He is no where near clever enough to use a mod menu let alone install one.
I hope i get told at least why he was banned his username is Slavic_Het

The log says otherwise, he did indeed restart his game and shortly after modified process memory (using an injector, cheat engine, whatever else that tampers with memory).

Dss0 Thanks for the reply, would an antivirus be capable of doing that?

Sonic nah. It has to be something that was specifically made to tamper with bo2.
