Title: Snowroller Uninitialized Error - LAN works but online doesn't
Hey, I've been getting the 'could not authenticate to Plutonium: snowroller uninitialized' error and can't connect online. LAN mode works perfectly fine.
The issue started the day I installed Forza Horizon 6, which triggered a DirectX and system update.
Specs:
- MSI Thin GF63 12VE
- Windows 11 Home 64-bit
- Intel i7-12650H, 16GB RAM
- DirectX 12
What I've already tried:
- Launching via plutonium.exe (not the launcher)
- Deleting %localappdata%/Plutonium and relaunching
- Adding plutonium.exe and game exes to Windows Firewall (both Private and Public)
- Reinstalled all Visual C++ redistributables
- Winsock reset and DNS flush via CMD as admin
- Deleted config/manifest/info/latest json files from the Plutonium folder
- Tried a brand new Plutonium account - same error
- Pinged plutonium pw - successful, 0% packet loss, ~15ms
- curl plutonium pw - connects fine, no SSL/certificate errors
- Checked DirectX Diagnostic Tool - no errors found
- Stopped all Xbox services - didn't help
- No system restore points available
The console window opens but is completely blank and then closes. No log files are being generated either.
LAN mode works perfectly which suggests the game files are fine and it's an authentication/network issue specific to online mode. Any help would be appreciated!
