After returning to Shi No Numa after months, the trap has consistently ended every run while running through between rounds. It does not indicate that the trap damages you (red hitmarker) and just kills you with no damage indicated. I have went thousands of rounds months ago with no issue.
I tested on regular World at War with no issues.
