Sylvannas so it seems that in ds4 you have to change the controller profile to read as an xbox controller
you do it going in the profiles tab, click new, a popup asking to use a preset will appear, press yes, and then in "output controller" you select xbox 360
give this profile any name you want and save
now at the profiles tab, under Selected Profile, click there and select your created profile
