OG Fortnite client.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post ideas but:
Now i know what some of you might say, why even try here since fortnite is a free game, the player base is not dead and plutonium is strictly COD. But Fortnite in it's prime was as much fun as you could have and i'd do anything to play it again. The game nowadays is filled with bullshit. I don't think i've seen a game get ruined more than this. There's a few clients (Rift, Project Era, Nova, Reboot) that work kinda like plutonium where you download a game version and link the path in a launcher, login and then you can start playing whatever game version is being hosted.
Project Rift used to have a lot of players but they have stopped since the dev doesn't have the time on his hands to maintain the server. The other projects are not very known, have little staff / devs and a small player base. I'm sure with the professionalism you guys offer, you could do a much better job. You guys have a big name, a huge player base (even if it's not cod, i think a lot of people will play), a lot of staff, and with a good tutorial installing should be easy for all.
Right now Project Nova is the only one with 24/7 hosting but they only host 2 servers, 1 for NA and 1 for EU. During busy hours you can't get in a lobby and at night there's nearly no players. This doesn't really help to keep new players, making the issue even worse.
This could be fixed with more popularity, more servers and ease of use.I hope someone from staff sees the potential. If not, if you guys have any clue who else i can bring this idea to, please do let me know.

Project Rift is still active, but they only play on the weekend when the server is up mainly for EU. I doubt Epic will allow another project, because The Devs for project Rift actually asked Epic for permission to allow a 3rd party server, but Epic laid out some rules like no paid skins, etc. It's one of the few projects that actually got permission from a big company such as Epic. Back in the day, companies like Valve would allow the community to make projects off their IP, but of coarse rules are laid out. Mostly anything that has to do with profit.

It's a fairly large amount of work to get anywhere close to the original game, and would require either packet dumps or possibly replays to datamine information only available on the game servers (which obviously no longer are available). I feel like you'd also run into "why patch x and not y" debates, which wouldn't help anyone.
It's also very likely that Epic would take action against any project that built this at scale, regardless of if custom skins are allowed or not, note the explicit single player mention in the image below.
The potential is definitely there, I realized this many years ago, but it's just not worth the effort.

RedxSkull Too bad, you'd think that with all the profit they already make tricking 8 year olds into buying bs, that they would at least care about the players that made them what they are today.

Eldor That's too bad, i would've loved it. I guess it's sticking with 25 players then. Thanks for clearing it up

zeistenaar They could have one trillion dollars and wouldn't make a difference. Business always comes first for them before tending to gamers. EPIC even shut down Unreal Tournament Master servers not too long ago and there are still a lot of loyal fans to that IP. They have all their Devs mostly working with Fortnite and remember the Devs are not the ones in charge. It's the higher ups that determine the future of Fortnite and they are mostly looking at ways to increase profits over quality of the game. It's mostly Community Projects/ Indie games actually care what the community wants.
