HELP! Failed to check for updates: 'object reference not set to an instance of an object.'

I've been trying on and off for around a year to get my PC to run plutonium, im not running on a potato or anything im on a R9 5900x and a 2060. I cant get anything to work at all, the second i run the installer it doesnt get me anywhere and just hits me with the 'Failed to check for updates: Object reference not set to an instance of an object', with a plutonium windows then following up with telling me to 'restart the updater with internet access', I've reinstalled all .NET frameworks, disabled VPN, disabled Antivirus, used google and cloudflare DNS, literally even changed my PC's system time to hopefully try and make it work and that hasn't even done anything.
