Risk of VAC?
-
Hi, I'm new to plutonium.
After reading a bit about it, I decided to install it.
However, I already had the game on Steam so when it came to setting up the game, I put the path to the installed game (steamapps > common > Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3). When launching it via the plutonium launcher, it also launched the game on Steam and even logged the time as well.
I have a feeling this isn't supposed to happen, as someone told me its completely separate from Steam.

It does not launch the actual steam game, it just tells steam that it's running, other mods and game launcher do this too. This won't get you banned, in fact VAC isn't even loaded.
In case you still don't trust it you could also close Steam when using Plutonium -
mxve phew this puts me at ease xDD
What if I want to go back to the normal? just verify files and be done with it?
Thanks for your answer.

Altawi Plutonium doesn't change anything about the actual files of your game install, so you don't have to do anything. Simply launch the game through Steam if you want to play the Steam version or through the Plutonium launcher if you want to play the Plutonium version.
Plutonium files are installed to %localappdata%\Plutonium, it just loads what it needs from the game directory without modifying it. -

Good to know. Thank you very much! -
VAC works on Steam games. Plutonium is not a Steam game. You cannot get banned by the Steam anticheat for playing a non Steam game
