Failed to check for updates

I tried deleting and redownloading the plutonium.exe file and I tried changing the antivirus Windows settings, I'm not sure what else I could do to fix this problem when I try to install plutonium:

Your .net install seems to be broken. Re-install it.

You download its installer from Microsoft start it and click Repair (twice?)
