ZM and MP servers broke recently
-
Hello,
Recently my friends and I stopped being able to connect to multiplayer or zombies servers that I host from my machine.
I changed my API keys for both to no avail. Port forwarding settings seem to be unchanged, although even if they were it's still very odd I can't connect to matches hosted on my own machine (127.0.0.1.xxxxx).
Any next steps for troubleshooting? Common failure points? Very confused since I (as far as I am aware) reconfigured nothing relating to the servers. Thanks!

Did this happen after updating? Servers configuration changed and you need to manually update the server files
Also check for any error in the console and make sure the port forward is still working, your IP can change which makes a port forward rule invalid

Resxt Honestly not sure. Do server updates happen automatically? Or are you talking about a client update?

MSund12 A major update to plutonium just came out that requires you to make some changes to your server files (the .cfg and .bat in particular)
If you didn't update your servers, they are still running on the old version of the game meaning no one can connect to them that has the new version.
When you started up YOUR client version to play the game, it updated to the new version and that is why you can't connect.
You need to update your plutonium on the servers, and then make the required changes to the .cfg and .bat files for the new version. The "how to run a dedicated server" documentation has been updated to show the required changes.
happy to help in discord (for more immediate / responsive help) if you want to find me there.

DirkRockface Got it. Thank you very much! I should be capable of following these steps but will reach out if I need assistance.

MSund12 client updates are automatic unless you did something that makes it not update
Server updates are not automatic but some are mandatory to list the server again and potentially to be able to connect to it from a client running these newer versions, not sure
