Requesting a taken username

Hi, I would like to request a taken username that has been inactive for a little bit over 3 years.
Username in question is: YukinoI know and understand that the person doesn't need to be active on the forum to be playing the game, but most people on discord use forum to add each other and I also could not find the person who owns the account on Discord. Then there's the fact that the person didn't login in 3 years.

Hi, no offense I really don't mean this in a rude way, but paying 10$ to remove an _ from my username is like taking a 50k$ bill, wiping your ass with it and sending it down the drain instead of using like 5$ to just buy toilet paper and keeping the rest.

you are paying $10 for the right to claim a user name someone else already has taken that could just be lost forever (like how most other user databases work). It's a perk of being a contributor... if it isn't worth $10 to get your name without a "_" then don't pay it.

DirkRockface Wrong. The username will not be lost forever, because it can be claimed by anyone at anytime just like on any other game. The only way it can be lost is, if someone else claims it and plays with it and yes I'm paying for a removal of an _, because the only difference in our usernames is that I have the _. That is 100% not worth 10$. I would rather change my name somewhere else where my name is totally different, also you can't say that literally almost everyone these days making you pay for a username change isn't pathetic. I would've understood if it something worth the money like a dlc, but making people pay for a username change in 2025 is ridiculous. Plutonium is not the only website/gaming platform like that for your information. There's also the fact of will I be playing this game a lot that matters. I'm not paying 10$ to change a username in a game which I will play for example every 5 months. These types of decisions are the ones that lead to greed and to people behind either a game or program becoming just like EA even though they hate EA for being greedy. Hypocrisy at it's finest. Either way I'd rather not argue with you on a forum post, if you have something to say or to debate. I'm in the Discord server. Just dm me.

We are not making you pay 10€ for a user name change, those are free.
We are giving the people helping us to pay the bills for Plutonium the possibility to get already used usernames as a little thank you. -
joceify My god... It has absolutely nothing to do with me being broke, I can literally buy it anytime I want to unlike you, also what do you mean by a problem requesting it? Can you actually elaborate or explain what you mean by that, because I don't have a problem requesting it. Just making a more then fair point of me having barely any value of paying for it. That's like saying that I have no reason to hate apples when I'm talking about problems with oranges which have absolutely nothing to do with apples. I wanted to request it, because I wanted to see, if I could and because I saw an old post about it. I did not know payment was a requirement for it. Good thing I created this post or topic, so now I know. 1 last thing. Xerxes Fair enough. I wanted to see if I could get it at all or for free or how much I would have to pay for it. Now I know that information. Thank you for providing it. I was just very pissed off that on every new platform or game or anything you have to pay to change or in this case take anyone's username who hasn't been on the platform in ages, which is because these days everything, sometimes even the smallest things are behind a paywall. I'm not going to lie, I'm starting to miss simpler days and platforms.

I do understand that you need to make money somehow. I'm still thankful to you people for making the game free and free off hackers. Just because I'm pissed off by almost everything being paid for doesn't mean I don't appreciate other good and free things Plutonium owners, co-owners, admins and staff have done for us.

Plutonium ain't a game. It's a client. The game isn't free anymore as they don't support torrent anymore.

Yukino_ changing your name is free, taking someone else's name is paid. I get your point but I don't even see why you'd expect a platform to provide a way to take someone else's username in the first place? I don't know any platform that does that. This is literally a luxury.
It being paid also prevents abuse and botting which is frequent in this name changing scene since it's filled with... some kind of people
If it was free then pretty much anyone who meets the criteria would have their name stolen and sold by some weirdo

Resxt I know that changing is free, but taking is paid. Well when it comes to other websites that allow you to take someone's username there is Chess. com as well as Osu's website which both grant you the ability to take someone's username after paying (just makes my point clearer every website that has it is paid), though with Osu's website you have to wait a long certain amount of time before that name is available depending on how much the person playing the game has in-game plays. It can be anywhere from 6 months to 5-6 or even more years. I don't really know about chess. com. This is just a guess, but I think you get the username as long as you have paid for a diamond subscription and that user has been inactive for some time. I think similar to Plutonium around 2-3 years. When it comes to botting I agree, but people wouldn't be stealing names left and right, if there was a requirement put in place of a player who's name you want to steal to be inactive for example for 3 years. I can't think of many different sites that give you this ability other then those 3.
