BO2 Zombies stuck on splash screen
-
BO2 gets stuck on the splash screen when launching Zombies. I can hear the game: I can shoot and die, but I can only see the loading screen.

It sounds like the game is actually running behind a stuck splash screen (you can hear shots/deaths), so this is usually a display/overlay or fullscreen-mode issue rather than corrupted files. Try this, in order:
Kill every overlay/hook
Close MSI Afterburner/RTSS, Discord overlay, GeForce Experience overlay, ReShade, Overwolf, etc. These hooks are a known cause of black/white/frozen screens in BO2 until you disable them. Then relaunch.Force windowed/borderless and a safe resolution
Open your config folder and edit Zombies config:
%localappdata%\Plutonium\storage\t6\players\plutonium_zm.cfg
Set:seta r_fullscreen "2" // borderless windowed
seta r_mode "1920x1080" // or your monitor’s native resSave, relaunch. (You can also try Alt+Enter when it’s stuck to toggle windowed.)
Reset the bad config (quick clean)
If it still sticks, delete/rename plutonium_zm.cfg (or the whole players folder in that path). BO2 will rebuild fresh configs on next launch and this often clears a bad video setting that keeps the splash on top.If it only happens on DLC maps / checkerboard “no texture”
Then it’s not the splash bug—it’s missing DLC assets. Make sure the sound, video and zone folders from the DLC are inside the BO2 game folder, not in a nested “pluto_t6_dlcs” subfolder. -

This only happens rarely (I think "only" twice so far). I don't have any overlay, just stock Windows nothing running really other than maybe a browser.
I have been facing another more serious issue though, which is that my game crashes around 30 minutes in. It depends, but the game crashes eventually. I have only tried BO2 Zombies.
Here is what I get:
Nothing seems out of place in the console:
Unfortunately this makes the game unplayable for me, as my goal is to complete the Zombies easter eggs.

I have posted a separate post as this is a separate issue: https://forum.plutonium.pw/topic/42375/game-freezes-30-mins-into-zombies-mode
