bo1 invisible / transparent textures

I want to make a mod where at least most of the map is transparent/invisible and I don't know where to start or how to do it? If I could get help doing it (or someone do it for me) It would be greatly appreciated

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit?
