Bo2 Voice chat?

I know this is a necro-post for a 2 or 3 month old post, but I still wanna chime in.
Last I heard, there were no plans to include voice chat in BO2 because it was deemed "not worth it", which to me sounds like "the coding and technical issues are too difficult for us to deal with."I hope in the future that we actually get true voice chat in Black Ops 2, because one of the defining characteristics of old Xbox 360-era multiplayer games was the rabid trash talk and angry gun game knife reactions. I played Search and Destroy a lot back in the day on Xbox 360 mainly FOR the interesting and funny interactions I had, because EVERYONE used voice chat in that specific mode.

just use discord if you want voice chat is it that hard for people to join a simple group chat or a servers discord and hope in a vc? by the sounds of it people who trick shot are the only people who want vc waw has vc built into it but no one plays it and or never uses the in game vc so why put the effort into adding it into bo2 the ""the coding and technical issues are too difficult for us to deal with." is not the reason we just choose not to deal with it as there are other programs out there that people can use if they want to voice chat in a game.

FragsAreUs Considering most servers don't have a discord that is readily available and most people aren't going to take the time/care to share their discord users with randoms in COD, yeah it is a little hard. I'm guessing the most likely issue is the need for a separate channel for voice chat to actually be used such as Multiplayer server data and voice data are not joined together and probably require different ports for different traffic types. I think the point OP is making is half the fun is the nostalgia of the game and implementing something as simple as VC would go a long way.

Shpongle2 we removed black ops 2 voice chat from the game if people wanted to voice chat there are other ways to do it.

FragsAreUs Why remove it? Doing easter eggs in zombies is nearly impossible without local VC, I understand that discord exists, but its sort of like having a phone and removing voice calls because skype and texting exists, its not wrong but its irrelevant lol

if you where going to do easter eggs you would idk get people to join a discord vc or another service like guilded and what not, we never had intentions to make vc work in game as there are alternatives.

voice chat in our client has never worked, comparing it to a phone is a poor comparison but personally I would never do easter eggs on a public server if I really wanted to do them I would do them in a private match setting. But as I stated before we never had intentions to making it worked it only caused issues for our players because of bo2 nature to high jack people's mic settings when playing even tho it was never used.

Why is the mod on this thread being so Hostile Lmao? Half the fun of playing Mw3 and Bo2 was the Lobby chat, and since there is no Matchmaking there cannot be Lobby Chat, but in game Voice Comms would go a longaway, People who dont have Mics Probably dont have Discord or a program to Voice chat with and probably arent going to go out of their way to install one, But they should still be able to be involved in a group setting while playing a coop game mode -
