On the new update I can't use my controller and the Max level option is no longer there for me

How do I set up my controller and get max level so i can create classes to trickshot with? I haven't played in months and this new update I don't see where to do any of this.

I used to just be able to plug in and thats it but it wasn't working, what else can i try. Xbox 1 controller

Xbox one is just plug and play. Should work outta the box, you don't need to do anything.
