How to make a simple cod client?

Hi for the longest time I have wanted to learn how the Plutonium and X labs clients were developed and how to develop one myself, I would like to develop a client for one of the cods that have mod tools support so i can add onto the game and ultimately revise it if that makes any sense, I have also looked at the iw4x source that's up on GitHub and when trying to compile/ build it, it just doesn't work and I get several errors... any and all help/ advise is appreciated, thank you.

just in general learn to reverse engineer games and learn how they work you can look at other sources for instance id software released the source code for all of there old games pretty much doom 3 bfg down that they have worked on that is pretty much it its just learning how the game operates.

FragsAreUs okay i have a few years of expirience with the cod 4/waw and bo3 mod tools, i also used to fuck around with shit back on the 360 so i know a good bit about how cod games function but could you point me to some sources to learn?

@AimN4ya mod tools and gsc knowledge isn't gonna get you very far. Things you should have advanced knowledge of:
- C++
- Assembly
- Reverse engineering

@AimN4ya that completely depends on you and how much time and motivation you have. Anywhere from half a year to 10 years.
