How would the game being 5USD make any changes to the Problem with the master server?
Xerxes the servers are hacked because of that
and the game is being sold yes but it is not working
they will abandon it i know but it is a suggestion -

You can set a password on your server with
g_password. -

No? You can only do that if you host your own servers. You can't just hijack a public server so you and your friends can play alone.
