Are custom zombies maps ever going to be possible?

I know bo2 doesn't have native mod support but if I remember correctly neither did bo1 and it has custom zombies maps. Is there anything that's stopping mod creators from making custom maps? Does it seem like it'll eventually be possible? I did hear rumors about someone finally figuring it out but I haven't heard anything since then.

Stuhlinger this could very much be a thing in the future but as of now, it is not possible. it's been done before but by a different guy and I'm sure if Plutonium ever did it, it would be a different way and concept.

I'd love to see custom maps in the near future. Bo2 has the best classic zombies feel to it imo and custom maps would add so much to the game
