Hello, I have spent the past few day's trying to host my own server, so that me and my partner in the other room can play.

When either of us try to find the server, we can not see it. However, when i type "/connect localhost:4977" into the console, i can connect (my partner can not)

I have done as the server set up says on the main page. My ports are forwarded and i have made firewall exceptions.

I have restarted my router, still can't find server (nor can my partner). I have changed the Server Key and replaced it in the Server Start Bat and Dedicated zombie server config.

FYI - i am getting a "Heartbeat" from the server and no errors.

Please help me, I have tried to sort this but no luck.

    Thank you

ZombieGumBall just to be clear since you didn't mention it.

Localhost is yourself and is only available for you
Your public IP (in most cases) is only accessible from outside of your network.
Another device connected to the same network would have to use your local IPv4 to connect and with the right port too.

As our documentation mentions you shouldn't be using the default port if you host on home network.
Use any unused port instead for example 9999 (change in the bat and change your port forward rule too)

This would look similar to this connect 192.168.1.54:9999

Hey, thank you soo much! I have been going crazy trying to get it to work and i can now say it does (thanks to you).

I changed my port to a different one, i then used my ip and port (on mine and my partners computer) and we are able to join each other!

            Thank you soo much!

Though i will say that i cant see the server on the list page, which is not important to me as we can play.

Thank you soo much! I hope this forum topic helps others who may run into issue in the future.

Again, thank you, have a great day!

ZombieGumBall I'm glad you got it working, you're welcome.
You not seeing a server on your own IP is normal depending on your network configuration.
I won't get into technical stuff but basically you "seeing yourself" depends on whether you have NAT loopback enabled or not on your router
