IIRC: If you run the latest version of wine (not the one from apt) it will work just fine. Thats what spectre told me before.

also what is min spec req to run bo2 server and mw3 server? for linux

Copy the above until you get to the "Plutonium Dedicated Server Setup" section.

You will then need to run piry and configure the BO2 files.

Once thats done you can finish off with the "Starting the server" section.

But yes Bo2 works fine with wine.

I personally started with Ubuntu 18.04 and also tested it with Ubuntu 16.04 at the request of a players.

It is using the latest version of Wine. Wine 5

staging branch is 5.7

i was using 19.04 bionic and 20.04 focal

Will the server run on Debian, or does it need Ubuntu specifically?

You can host BO2 on Linux, I know because I did it myself (I think on Debian?). Not sure about MW3 though
