setup button doesn't work
-
every time I press setup it wont work, I've uninstalled and installed 5-6 times now and it wont work.
-
Have you tried restarting?
-
@Alyx-J does the path where the launcher sits or your windows username contain special characters?
-
Dss0 no, I've tried changing the name of the install and reinstalling it and it didn't work
-
@Alyx-J can you post a screenshot of the folder the launcher is in with the file path visible? also try running it as admin. If it still doesn't work i have no idea.
-
Dss0 tried running as admin didn't work.
-
@Alyx-J this is Plutonium files, you don't need to go here.
He asked for where your game is saved. Read belowHow to fix Setup not changing to Play when selecting the folder?
This happens because the path to your game has non english characters.
For exampleC:\Téléchargements
has 2é
characters which don't exist in english so the launcher cannot read it.
Change the folders names in the path to make sure it has english characters only or move the game to a folder which doesn't contain any special character in the full path
For exampleC:\Telechargements
orC:\Games
It can also happen if your path is too long.
If your path doesn't contain special characters then try to move your game to a shorter path and reselect it -
Resxt this?
-
@Alyx-J yes but you have game files in Games and then a folder where game files should be so idk
Click on game settings in the launcher and screenshot -
Resxt i cant click game files at all, the setup button wont even open the file explorer, and the settings on the right just says "settings not available"
-
@Alyx-J click on game settings it's right next to the play/setup button
-
-
@Alyx-J what is your antivirus? Please mention everything even if it's disabled
Also click on your profile picture top right and screenshot the 2 versions displayed at the bottom core and launcher -
Resxt had malware bites and avg but both disabled then clean installed everything and still wont work
-
AVG probably messed with something, I don't see how you don't even have the game settings button
I would recommend uninstalling both, or at least AVG (which is a terrible AV anyways)Then restart your PC, don't start the launcher and delete the Plutonium folder found in
%localappdata%
This will delete any data/setting you have so backup anything importantThen run the launcher again, let it download everything, login again and see what you can do
-
Resxt yeah i uninstalled avg (missclick install because its borderline scamware) and restarted 2x then fresh installed plutonium after deleting it and its still not working.
-
@Alyx-J as a last resort workaround you could manually edit the launcher config to fill in the path. Go to %localappdata%/Plutonium and open config.json with a text editor then manually type in the path to your bo2 game folder.
"t6Path":"D:\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Call of Duty Black Ops II"
-
Dss0 bruh even that didn't work, idk what else to try. i have all antivirus off my pc and full clean removed and reinstalled like 9 times now.
-
@Alyx-J uninstall your antivirus. Disabling it won't work
-
WolflexZ i did, full uninstall avg and Malwarebytes
