It's kinda shitty you guys seriously can't support older windows versions, i get it it's a hassle to support older versions. But the most annoying thing is people saying to just upgrade to windows 10, first of all I have used Windows 10, and Windows 8.1 for months. And I personally use windows 10 on my main pc, and have Windows 8.1 installed on my brother's pc for performance. Windows 10 takes double the ram, it's slow and has alot of background processes which you can't close. Also, Windows 10 looks worse than 8.1 and is overall not as good to use. If support for Windows 8.1 was better I would use it on my main system. I get that you guys don't wanna support older Windows versions even though XP, 7, and 8.1 were the most popular OS'es at the time of BO2's release.

There used to be a time when DOS was the most popular time, so what do you want to tell us with that?

It does not matter anyways, with our OS requirement we support 82% of all Windows PCs, it makes no sense to slow down the games of everyone for just so very few stubborn and ungrateful people so they can use an older Windows Kernel thats slower because it has to support more legacy HW.

Windows 10 seems to be using more ram because it speeds up things a lot by having the most used code libraries in its memory as long as possible and will free unused ones if more ram is requested by the applications. It also keeps the last read / written files in memory in case you access them again, which happens quite often while gaming giving an additional speed boost. Additionally it does compress used memory so even more free ram is available if needed and possible.

While at the same time adding new kernel functions which are the modern version off old ones that make use of the hardware features that got added in the last decade and speed up things even more.

So in conclusion Windows 10 (and 8.1) got a lighter kernel that is also faster and can handle low memory situations much better thanks to a modern memory management.

Mearaq It's like blaming web devs for not supporting Internet Explorer. You use an oudated OS with security and compatibility issues. Either stick with it and get half your software not working and get malware or switch, you're the problem not devs who know their stuff.

yeh it might be time to upgrade. i also find stock win10 to be pretty bloated that's why i use ltsc, maybe worth checking out - you have to pirate it tho.
