Connection always drops midgame.

I started using plutonium a couple of weeks ago to revisit World at War. At first I was using it in combination with the steam version of the game, because I just so happened to buy the 20 year old game. The game was working perfectly fine at this point, but then I installed the torrent version so that I could show my friend how to install the game. Ever since I started running it off the torrent version, I could never play a full game without dropping connection. Now I know what you're thinking, "just switch back to the steam version." Well that's exactly what I did, and guess what. Yup, now the steam version keeps dropping connection! I even tried using an advanced uninstaller tool, revo uninstall, to completely uninstall plutonium, as well as verify the game files on steam, and then reinstalled everything. Unfortunately, no success.
It's as if installing the torrent version (which I found by following the links on the plutonium website) somehow messed up my network settings for plutonium. By the way, my friend installed it exactly as I did, and it works fine for him. So it's possible that the torrent isn't truly the reason that I can't connect online anymore, but the game worked perfectly fine beforehand, so I don't know what's causing the issues.
As a side note, when trying to find my ip so that my friends may connect to me, I found that the game says my UPnP is disabled. It states, "UPnP does not work. It is either disabled on your router or your network is not marked as Private in your Windows settings." I do in fact have my network set to private, and even used the Windows Services to enable UPnP which apparently had been disabled. However the message still displays, and the network issues still remain.
I'll be grateful for any advice.

Delete AppData\Local\Plutonium\storage\t4 Plutonium launcher will auto download a new one for you. Could fix your issue. Remember to run the launcher directly. If you have it Pinned to your taskbar. It won't update

DJackal Upnp also needs to be enabled on the router to work. You may need to turn it on manually.

The game files don't change your network or modify how the game works. Everything depends on Plutonium itself and your router
