Play Bo2 lan with friends

I am trying to play bo2 with my friends on LAN, is there a way to play it locally on the same network? I tried using connect IPV4 and it says joining session but nothing happens. Is there something wrong?

IIKepler_B22II You have to use the friends list or host a dedicated server. The connect command doesn't work for private matches only dedicated servers.

Sorry but please how do I host a dedicated server. I’ve been here for hours through today just trying to get plutonium to work so I can play lan with my friends. I can invite them but it would just say joining session and then error can’t join session

JezuzLizard Then why do I see so many replies on this forum from staff telling people to "go to custom games and then use the connect command"?
