I can't join servers or join my friends

the problem is in both multiplayer and zombies, when I try to join my friends it says unable to join session, and when I try to join a server it gives me a time out, is this fixable or should I redownload?
note: bo1 is working just fine i can join my friends and server no problem -
This has nothing to do with game files.
The host needs to open a port on his router
