Server for Low Ping Players

I understand this topic has been talked about, but nothing is working. Have two open UDP ports for 28960-61 and 28963 for server. Have tried leaving the server min and max ping at 0, have tried leaving them both empty, tried using values. Still saying for low ping players only. The server is using a custom map if that makes a difference, but that mod and connecting the map wasn't an issue. I also have very stable and high speed wifi. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't use sv_minPing or sv_maxPing at all, because they don't work. Add a comment to both of them like this. //sv_minPing

Still getting that same error, server is for low ping players only, and still saying I'm joining with other 50,000 ping. Running the server and game on the same machine. I have 28960-61 port forwarded and unblocked inbounds on windows firewall. Using port 28960 currently for the server, but as the original says I've tried a number of different combinations.

I was able to connect to the server with the connect mylocalip:29861, however my friend had trouble with this. Doesn't make much sense to me since the server is hosted on 29860.

MrsDunbarsTaint Since you are hosting the server on your own machine. Don't use 28960. That is the default port. Use 28962 or above. Most server owners use a VPS. It's more reliable and can have DDos Protection. There are trolls on plutonium that like to hit off servers for the fun of it. Start your game first, before you start the server, but I strongly suggest getting a VPS. You can find one under $10 easily.

hey i’m his buddy were trying to play, are u saying the port is the issue or we’re getting booted off every time we try to play, also have u heard of this problem or experienced it yourself? he can connect using connect command but when i try to join server publicly “low ping player” error pops up is the VPS absolutely a fix for this issue or just for protection purposes strictly, thankya brother
