Player joins server but gamertag doesn't show anywhere

So I was playing on a mob of the dead server and a player joined in it showed the name of who join but I did not care enough to read the name, then the player managed to kill me somehow and did it constantly I looked at the leaderboards and no name just me. I don't know if he is an anonymous cheater/ hacker or just broke the game.
