r5106 no longer connects to PDG WaW server
-
Previously, we’ve been able to connect to the PDG server via Plutonium through a console command.
Since updating to the latest build, this no longer works.
This is the server in question is 208.115.196.27:28960/
Can a fix please be implemented?

That's not a Plutonium server, we have never advertised it is possible to connect to vanilla servers for a reason.

If I remember correctly, long ago, if you wanted to play on a PDG server, you had to own a LEGAL copy of the game.
If you didn’t have one (or simply didn’t want to), you could play only on cracked servers; of course, that was some sort of circumvention. But PDG servers always required a LEGAL copy of the game. -

Xerxes I appreciate that but prior to the latest build, I have always been able to connect to that server via Plutonium.
Can you help me to understand why it’s no longer possible?
Thankfully I still have the previous build saved on another machine, so I’ll be able to use that build to continue to play on the server.
I know many others who use Plutonium purely to play on this server (they advertise it as being accessible by any client), as playing through Steam doesn’t allow for FOV and ADS FOV alterations (which we thank you guys a lot for) but the PDG server is still the most popular European server with vanilla settings, so it’s the server of choice for many.

Prior to the latest build I was able to connect to the server just fine (the server is advertised as being accessible via all clients), so just trying to understand why this is no longer possible.
The steam version doesn’t allow for FOV or ADS FOV to be altered, which is myself and many others have preferred to access the server via Plutonium.

Because changes to the protocol the client and server use to communicate have been made.

Xerxes Thanks. Is there something that the owners of the PDG server can tweak to allow the current Plutonium build to connect to it? If so, I can pass this on to the PDG server admins.
-
Areia you can use an older Plutonium build. I have the current build for playing on the Pluto servers and an older Plutonium build solely for playing on the PDG server.

The same thing they could have done for years now, move their server to Plutonium.

Xerxes they’re trying to maintain a healthy player base, hence they made the server accessible by both Steam and Plutonium (prior to the latest Pluto build). Moving the server to Plutonium would cut out all of their Steam players and kill off the server.
As I say, not a problem for me (just others without access to an older Pluto build), as I can continue using an older build of Plutonium to access their server.
I can talk to their admins and get them to resolve the issue on their end if it’s not something Plutonium staff wish to discuss (fair enough if that’s your stance/policy), sure their server guys will figure it out in time so it’s accessible via the latest build.
