discord keeps server muting me and my friend when we have plutonium open

late last year, me and my friend started playing waw custom zombies a lot, and we've never had this issue up until now, but as of last month, we cant play the game for more than a couple minutes without one of us (or in most cases) both of us lagging both ingame and over discord. theres about a 25% chance that my other friends are playing a joke on us and server muting us, but ive observed that the server mute (red mute icon with a stop sign) appears next to our names for less than a second, and then disappears. if this is happening to anyone else, id greatly appreciate just as much as a response so we dont feel crazy!! if anyone has any fixes or potential help/info, id greatly appreciate it!!
