    Hey everyone,

    I’ve been trying to fix this issue for hours, and I’m completely stuck. I had a fully working Zombies server that I use for LAN play (using the -lan argument in !start_zm_server), but out of nowhere, it started breaking, and I can’t figure out why.

    I initially thought it was due to corrupted game files, but I’ve verified that everything’s fine. Port forwarding isn’t the issue either since this is just a local setup.

    I’m using the Plutonium T6 torrent files (I do own the game on Steam, but I read that Plutonium requires its own format).

    Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated — I’m losing my mind over this one. Thanks in advance!

      Doesn’t seem to be a files issue, and looks like you own the game based on heartbeats being successful. You’re encouraged to use Steam files.
      Is the server hosted on the same machine you’re playing on? If you’re using a command to connect, what is the full command you’re entering?

        The server is hosted on a separate PC from the other computers I play the game on. Since I'm local, I use the IP address of the server PC. "connect 10.0.0.51"

        EDIT: Also, if I use my public IP on my local network, it also doesn't work.

          mbucc9000 double-check the local IPv4 of the server, and make sure to have whitelisted the port/bootstrapper in the server PC’s firewall.

          Also now that I’m reading back, you say you specified -lan in the server launch parameters but it’s still sending heartbeats indicating it’s not in LAN. Might want to change that to not be surprised by unexpected joiners.

            Okay, I got rid of the -lan argument for now. I've turned off my private firewall and still no dice. I've checked my IP and it's correct. I even did a DHCP renew to get a new IP for the server PC, and no luck.

              Okay, I got rid of the -lan argument for now. I've turned off my private firewall and still no dice. I've checked my IP and it's correct. I even did a DHCP renew to get a new IP for the server PC, and no luck.

              mbucc9000 looks fine. Test with the server and player both launched in LAN.

                It ended up working! I connected via another PC, and it worked. My original device was a Steam Deck. I was using LanLauncher (I know it's not supported here). But when I launched LAN mode straight from Plutonium, it worked! Thanks for your help!

                  mbucc9000 no problem. My guess is that you had an outdated client while the server was updated.

                    ^ I think so as well. Plutonium updated when I ran it directly. I thought that wouldn't have been the case because when you connect from an updated client to an outdated server, you get an error... but it is NOT the other way around.

                    Hopefully someone stumbles upon this in the future!
