I am trying to play with my wife and brother. Thing is, wife and I live together and are on the same network. I learned that if you are on the same network, you cannot play together for some reason. Anyway, I read that changing your IP using a vpn such as hamachi would do the trick and bypass this. But I have not had such luck. Is there any work around for this besides port forwarding?

There are a lot of free VPNs out there, such as ProtonVPN and others, that you can use. However, a quick reminder, if you're trying to join a public server, most server owners don't allow VPNs because people use them to bypass bans. It's best to use a VPN only in private matches with your family or friends

RedxSkull yes but it does not work within private matches at all. That's my problem. It just boots one of us out the minute we try joining the same lobby as one another.
