I happen to peek inside of one of the mod folders, and I come across a few files:

    mod.all.sabl
    mod.all.sabs
    mod.ff
    mod.iwd

What are these files, exactly? What are their formats, and what are they for? Are they compiled GSCs? If I wanted to produce these files myself (from a GSC, or other sources), how would I go about accomplishing that? All I know is that the mod.json file is metadata used by Plutonium T6.

      To my knowledge

      • SABL and SABS are related to sound
      • FF is a packaged file that has a bunch of files like assets (I think)
      • IWD is just an archive, just like .rar or .zip but with a different file extension

You might need .iwd to ship textures and stuff in a mod

There is a GitHub page that contains information on how the COD4, WaW, and MW2 .ff formats are structured. Do you know of a similar page for BO2?

(I cannot post a link, since I don't have the rep)

You might want to take a look at the source of OAT.
