Mod menus rules

I understand that plutonium supports mod menus, what are the rules on where they can be used, I read that you have to have your own server. Does this mean I can start a custom game of zombies and my friend can join by clicking my name on friends list and be able to use mods, or do I have to set up my own server?

mossdickson https://forum.plutonium.pw/topic/6966/how-to-use-a-mod-menu-without-injecting-loading-gsc-scripts-client-sided You do not need a server in order to load mods but you can create one to do so if you want.

JezuzLizard, so I won’t risk getting banned for using mods as long as it’s in a custom game?

HannesC, so if don't play in lan mode but play in a custom game not on an actual server which my friend can join by clicking my name in the overlay, the anti cheat is still enabled?
