T6 and Steam related question, please help!

If I were to download T6 and my friends had the game on Steam and we wanted to play together, would my friend just have to download Plutonium or would he need to get T6 as well? Thanks to whoever can answer this question!

t6 and bo2 are the exact same game but if he owns it on steam then he just needs to make a forum account here download the launcher and have it direct to his steam dir of the game files then either 1 have upnp enabled or 2 port forward 4976 if you are the one that is going to be host and then you guys can play together
