Loading into custom game stops after joining game session pop up appears

When I try to play with a friend on Black ops 2 on a private custom match we cannot connect to each other, we've tried to double click each other on the friends list when in a match and using the direct connect with the connect command. Any way to fix this issue I'd really like to play custom since servers can sometimes be modded or laggy or just have too many people in it and can't play the good ones

Dss0 I tried a lot on that page and have looked up many videos but it still doesn't work and have tried to do different types of matches but alas it does not work. Is it because I'm on wireless network?
