Plutonium

What could happen if I didn't deselect "create subfolder"? I was playing plutonium one day and the next day the app just wouldn't load the game at all. The app would just disappear immediately after selecting play. The only step I don't remember doing is the deselection. I also use Mcafee and if there's a way around deleting that, that would be preferred.
